Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

Little Corkboard is a family planner app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it to what the app actually needs to work — we don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we are

Little Corkboard ("we", "us") provides the Little Corkboard mobile and web apps. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@littlecorkboard.com.

Information we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and a securely hashed password, so you can sign in and keep your board across devices.
  • Your family board. The content you add — planner tasks, events, notes, reminders, family members' names and ages/school year, pets, and an optional family photo. You choose what to enter.
  • Location (optional). If you use the "Nearby" feature, we use your device location or a postcode you enter to find family ideas near you. You can use the app without sharing location, and you can clear a saved location at any time in Settings.
  • Voice dictation (optional). When you record a "voice dump", your speech is transcribed to text on your device. Only the resulting text is sent to our service to be turned into planner notes — the audio itself is not uploaded or stored by us.
  • Subscription status. If you buy Little Corkboard Plus, our payments provider tells us whether your subscription is active. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details.
  • Basic usage counts.Small counters (e.g. how many brain dumps you've used this month) so free-plan limits work.
  • Calendar events (optional). If you connect your device calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, we read event titles, times and locations so they can appear alongside your family board. We deliberately never read event descriptions or notes.
  • Medication reminders (optional). If you add a medication, we store its name, dosage, instructions, schedule, and who it's for, plus a log of when each dose is marked as taken. This is health-related information, and it's only ever created if you deliberately add it — nothing is collected here unless you choose to use this feature.

Connecting a calendar

Connecting your device calendar needs no account or console setup — it's a permission prompt handled entirely on your device. Connecting Google Calendar or Outlook uses their sign-in (OAuth); we never see your Google or Microsoft password.

External events are fetched live each time you view your calendar and are never stored on our servers — only the title, time and location you're currently looking at pass through briefly. The one thing we do store is the OAuth token that lets us fetch your calendar on your behalf, and it's encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before it touches our database; our apps never read it back in plain text, only the server function that talks to Google or Microsoft directly can decrypt it.

A connected calendar is private to you — a co-parent on your board does not see it unless you explicitly copy a specific event across to the shared family board. You can disconnect a calendar at any time in Settings, which deletes its stored token.

Medication reminders

Medication reminders are entirely opt-in — the feature stores nothing about your family unless you deliberately add a medication. What you enter (name, dosage, instructions, schedule, and who it's for) is visible to every member of your household, the same as the rest of your family board — there is no separate, more restricted audience for it. Reminders are delivered as ordinary notifications on your own device; we do not use medication data for anything beyond showing it back to you and your household and sending those reminders, and it is never shared with, or used to infer anything for, any third party.

You can pause or remove a medication at any time in the Medicine section, which also removes its scheduled reminders. Removing a medication deletes its dose history along with it.

How we use it

To provide and sync your board, turn dictated or typed brain dumps into planner notes, show ideas near you, manage subscriptions, and keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers we share with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account and board are stored here.
  • OpenAI — turns the text of your brain dump into structured planner notes. Only the text you dictate or type for that feature is sent, and it is not used to train their models.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — process and manage subscriptions and payments.
  • OpenStreetMap— provides the map data behind "Nearby". Only an approximate location is used to look up places; your identity is not shared.
  • Google and Microsoft — only if you choose to connect Google Calendar or Outlook, so we can read your events and show them alongside your family board.
  • Google Analytics— only on our public website, and only if you accept analytics cookies (see "Our website" below). It is never used in the app.

Our website

On our public website (littlecorkboard.com) we ask whether we can use analytics cookies. If you say yes, we use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and how people find us, so we can make the site more useful. This is anonymous traffic data (for example, pages viewed and the country someone is visiting from), and we do not use it for advertising or to build profiles. If you say no, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using "Cookie settings" in the website footer. Analytics is never loaded on the signed-in pages of the site or inside the mobile app.

Our email list

If you join our email list on the website, we store your email address, the page you signed up from, and the date and time you agreed to hear from us. We only use it to send occasional tips and news about Little Corkboard. We do not sell or share your address for anyone else's marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us at the address below, and we will remove you.

Sharing within a family

If you invite a co-parent to your board, they can see and edit the same family content. Anyone you invite becomes an equal member of the board.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account and personal data; if no other member remains on your family board, the board is deleted too. You can also email us at privacy@littlecorkboard.com to request access to or deletion of your data.

Children

Little Corkboard is intended for parents and carers to organise family life. It is not directed to children as users. Any details about children (such as names or school year) are entered by the adult managing the board.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access to your board is restricted to you and any family members you invite. No service can be perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
